Mr. Paul Durocher’s historic estate gift mentioned in La Presse

Mr. Paul Durocher, a visionary entrepreneur who was deeply committed to healthcare and poverty relief, made one of the biggest donations in the history of Québec philanthropy.

Proudly St. Mary’s! Our Hospital was featured in an article showcasing the exceptional estate gift that was made to four Montreal organizations – St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, the Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), the Fondation de l’Institut de Cardiologie de Montréal, and the Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul de Montréal – by the late Paul Durocher.

Mr. Durocher, a visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist, made a posthumous donation totalling over $140 million to support the four charities that were closest to his heart.

La Presse had reported on this unprecedented donation last June. We are delighted that Mr. Durocher’s outstanding act of generosity was recognized again last week in the newspaper’s special “Philanthropy” section.
