It’s been a hard year for everyone, and we had yet another St. Patrick’s Day with no in-person celebrations, no live Irish music, no parades, and no getting together with friends and family for a pint!
To help spread the St. Patrick’s spirit, Hurley’s Irish Pub held a free virtual concert to that aired on March 17th featuring Solstice, the Hurley’s house band who is well-known to Irish music fans throughout the city, and especially for all those regular patrons to the pub!
This concert was and is still a fundraiser for frontline workers at St. Mary’s Hospital Centre, who are battling every day during this pandemic to keep us safe. In collaboration with Jameson, Hurley’s also gave prizes for donations to the cause! Congratulations to our winners!
If you missed out on the concert, don’t worry! You can view it below in all it’s glory. You can also continue to support St. Mary’s Hospital’s frontline staff by donating through the form below, for which you will receive an immediate tax receipt by email.
Solstice is one of Canada’s most exciting and prolific Celtic folk bands. Based in Montréal, Solstice have been delighting audiences across North America and Europe for over a decade with their explosive live performances showcasing their unique brand of Celtic folk that incorporates elements of Bluegrass and Canadian Maritime music. The band is comprised of Patrick Lesyk on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Kate Bevan-Baker on fiddle, and Dave Gossage on flutes and whistles.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! We hope to see you all soon!
